Easter Canoe Trip

Went canoeing with some friends for several days over the long weekend and then went snorkelling in a sinkhole.

Lower Glenelg River:

The River

unknown bird

 Forest

The Gang-Gang Cockatoo

Some kind of wren? with a blue tail

Shelagh and the girls

big gum trees

Azure kingfisher!  We saw a few of them but hard to take a photo.

Camp 3

Possum

Went snorkeling in picaninnie ponds, which is a karsted fault/cave system that is abouve groundwater level.  kind of like a sinkhole, but no collapse.  The water was incredibly clear, and fresh even though it is very close to the ocean.  At the surface it just looks like a little swampy area but once you go it it is pretty impressive.

This crevice is over 300 feet deep.

Shortfin Eel

The last night stayed at the renovated old mt. gambier jail, in a converted cell.

That's all!  Off to the flinders again this weekend.
